Office Renovation at Headquarters
In May to November 2016, Ryohin Keikaku underwent a major renovation of its headquarter building interior under the project name office in progress. Rather than updating the floors all at once, we renovated one floor at a time, incorporating what we learned in the previous floor in the next round. Our goal was not to simply create a new office environment, but to foster our skills and ownership for creating an inspiring place to work.
The furniture installed there is our product which use hollow panels made of native Japanese cedar cutoffs. The renovated office space can act as a showcase when selling the furniture to offices. The project won the Nikkei New Office Promotion Award in August 2017.
