Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd., the operator of MUJI, has been conducting a recall of certain production lots of the "Bamboo Folding Stool" since January 24, 2025, after identifying a potential defect in some units (specific production lots) sold between July 20, 2023, and December 24, 2024. The defect may cause the stool's legs to unexpectedly fold during use, posing a risk of falling.

Since the recall began, we have received four additional reports of similar incidents occurring in lots beyond the initially designated ones. As a result, we are expanding the recall to include all production lots of the "Bamboo Folding Stool." Additionally, since the "Small Bamboo Folding Stool" uses the same metal fittings, we are now including this product in the recall as well.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

If you own one of the affected products, please stop using it immediately and either bring it to the nearest MUJI store or submit a recall request via the web form below. A full refund will be issued.
